The Right Wing is Ruining Young Men and Making Them Lonely

Young men are becoming increasingly more right-wing. According to a survey conducted by the University of Michigan, 12th-grade boys’ identification as conservative increased by about five percentage points from 2015 to 2020. This is coming at the same time that many Gen Z men are reporting not having sex, Replika is marketing its AI chat as a “virtual girlfriend” to incel losers, and men are attacking attractive and successful women like Taylor Swift for no reason.

The Washington Post and others are concern-trolling about the difficulty of conservative men in finding girlfriends and wives. A “political dating mismatch will [could] threaten marriage,” the Post warned. But a relationship has to be consensual. So if a conservative man refuses to date women he demeans as “feminist,” that’s his decision, right? Why should the Post be demanding the man change his standards? Or is the woman supposed to change and conform to the “trad wife” lifestyle the Andrew Tate-listening man demands of his prospective wife?

You can see the problem. The people expressing concern are blaming women for the supposed problem.

If “politics” were just politics, the long-standing (but apparently increasing) gender gap in ideology wouldn’t be a “problem.” There’s no reason that a man who supports cutting the corporate tax rate shouldn’t be able to date a woman who supports raising the corporate tax rate.
